To stimulate the study of and interest in production and retailing of flowers, plants, and foliage through the agriculture education curriculum.
The event will take place at a site approved by the FFA Board of Trustees. The number of teams allowed per chapter will be decided by the host site. Fees must be paid for the team to be registered, after order date no refunds will be given. A Chapter does not have to compete in a district level event to be eligible for state competition.

Team makeup is four members a team may compete with less than four. All four scores count toward the team total.
The event will have five phases: identification of plant materials, general knowledge examination, problem-solving, practicums, and team activities.
Members who check in after the CDE has begun shall not be allowed to participate. A team failing to meet the registration deadline set by the host, registration will be paid prior to contest; if fees are not paid team will not be allowed to compete. Entries and Fees will be returned up to the date specified by the host… Because of the tight timelines, no privileges will be granted. Programmable calculators are not allowed. All members must supply/bring all equipment.
Tiebreakers: If ties occur the following events will be used in order to determine award recipients.
