State Convention

Montana FFA is excited to host the 91st Annual Montana FFA State Convention, April 7-10. This year’s State Convention will be a special hybrid event with some competitive events and general sessions held in-person and numerous activities and networking sessions held online and remotely. This year, we have remained Connected by Corduroy as Montana FFA continues to welcome all students into our organization where everyone can find their place here. The Montana FFA State Convention will celebrate how we are growing the next generation of leaders committed to seeking solutions to improve the world around them.

There are several ways to be involved in this year’s State Convention no matter where you are or whether you’re a sponsor, exhibitor, alumni, or current member! Information for how to take part in State Convention is listed on this page.

To help guide you through your convention experience, we’ve provided a few FAQ’s:

Which events are virtual and which are in-person?

That’s a great question! Several Career & Leadership Development Events will be held in-person in the Billings area during the week of April 5. General sessions will be held at the Billings Inn & Convention Center and streamed online to Facebook, YouTube, and the Montana FFA website. All in-person events will have limited seating capacity.

The remainder of the Career & Leadership Development Events will be held virtually. In addition to general sessions being streamed to Montana FFA Association Facebook Live, Montana FFA YouTube Live, and the Montana FFA website, there will be numerous other activities available online through the virtual conference platform, Whova. These activities can be accessed from your computer or through the mobile app:

  • Career Explorations Seminars
  • Career Expo
  • Exhibitor Breakout Sessions
  • Hall of Chapters
  • Networking Sessions

FFA chapters also have the opportunity to participate in the statewide Countdown to Convention during the weeks leading up to State Convention! Chapters will receive a package in the mail containing activities for students to implement ranging from chapter bonding to community service to leadership development.

Do I need to register in the virtual conference platform to participate online?

Anyone can view all general sessions via Facebook, YouTube, or without using the virtual conference platform. However, if you are an exhibitor, advisor, or a student, you will need to access the virtual conference platform for the rest of the convention activities. The official conference platform for the Montana FFA State Convention is Whova.

Convention registration for FFA chapters will be posted to the MAgNet. This includes information on how to register to access the virtual platform. FFA advisors and FFA members will be able to self-register and log into the online Montana FFA State Convention platform in Whova. From here, advisors and members can download the virtual convention app to their mobile devices.

If you are an exhibitor, all you need to do is register (the link to register is in the exhibitor section below). After registering your organization for the Career Expo, the Montana FFA Foundation will contact you directly to set up your virtual booth in the Whova platform.

Registration is closed.

As an exhibitor, you’ll have direct contact and interacting with talented Montana youth. The Career Expo will take place online, opening April 7 on Montana FFA’s virtual convention platform. Interactive breakout sessions for students to engage directly with exhibitors will be held throughout the convention with the virtual exhibitor booths remaining open for students to access in the months following State Convention.
